P.O.’Brien played Detective Mulligan, and at 59, he brought depth to the character. O’Brien, born November 11, 1899, died of a heart attack in 1983, aged 83, with his last appearance in a 1982 episode of “Happy Days.”

Joey Brown, who played Oscar Fielding III, was 67 during production. He died in 1973, aged 81, following complications from arteriosclerosis. His final acting role was in a 1964 episode of “The Christophers.”

Nehemiah Persoff, 39 at the time, portrayed Little Bonaparte and lived to be 102, passing away in 2022. His final role was in the 2003 miniseries “Angels in America.”

The film also starred Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon, who played Joe and Jerry, respectively. Curtis, 33 when filming, died in 2010, while Lemmon, 34, passed away in 2001. Marilyn Monroe, who played Sugar Kane, was just 32, tragically dying in 1962 at the age of 36.
